You don't have to be a pet owner to come to the Clinic. Indeed approximately 60% of the clients who see Alan are people attending for McTimoney Chiropractic: A therapy which adjusts the bones of your body to realign and rebalance it, to relieve pain and discomfort and increase mobility.
This has proved very popular in helping people with all sorts of ailments, including back pain. We not only have clients returning for a regular MOT, but they are also recommending their friends and family.

Homeopathy
Homeopathy is gentle, effective and safe. It works by trying to get to the root of the dis-ease and then stimulating the body's own natural inner healing.
The client often experiences a greater sense of well-being and optimism as well as raised energy levels after treatment.
Homeopathy works on the principle of 'like cures like'. For example the homeopathic remedy 'apis', bee sting, is used to relieve inflammation. Homeopathic remedies are made from plant, mineral or animal sources which are 'potentised'. The correct remedy stimulates the body's own natural inner healing. The remedies are pleasant to taste, are safe, non-addictive and non-toxic. They can be used by everyone, from babies and children to adults, including women during pregnancy.
Appointments for people take considerably longer than they do for our animal friends. Alan likes to allow an hour for the initial one in which he takes a detailed case history. Subsequent appointments will be 30 minutes.
Animal clients have a time allocation of 30 minutes althoughsome prefer to be out of the door before time's up! We've had some wonderful thank you letters such as 'Thank you for changing my life. I can now cock my leg again.' Homeopathy is helping a lot of his clients manage old-age or terminal complaints and provides and option where the owner prefers to leave conventional medicine as the last resort(although the two can be utlilised together).
A postal prescription service is also available.
Alan's interest with animals doesn't just lie with primary care. He is also training vets in his role as a tutor with the British Institute of Homeopathy.
